Forestry in a National Park: the Exmoor Excursion, 1968
Lately at the Commonwealth Forestry Bureau Oxford
By way of introduction, an article by the famous Benedetto Croce on aesthetics is abstracted which leads on to the personal views of the writer that much of what is so much admired in the British scene is derived from the gross misuse of the land. This admiration is largely due to the sentimentality of the Romantic Movement. A brief itinerary is then given and there follows an account of the discussion on the last evening of the excursion which shows that the various interests are gradually settling down to a happier way of living together. The paper ends with a note by A. J. Grayson on ends and means in the provision of outdoor recreation.
