The History and Future of Forestry in the Middle Tweed

Forestry Commission

History is outlined briefly and the more recent developments in afforestation and the establishment of plantations are described. The effects of the factors of locality on silvicultural practice and the problems which will subsequently arise in the future management of the forests are discussed.
