FORESTRY IN NORTHERN IRELAND

The progress made in forestry under the Ministry of Agriculture since 1921 is discussed, and conditions compared with other parts of the United Kingdom. Climatic and soil conditions are considered and notes given on the principal species used and their suitability for the sites available. In addition drainage, planting methods, management, and utilization of small produce are all lightly touched on and figures given for the areas acquired and the acreages planted to date.
